Art. 1 - Master of International Health Care Management, Economics and Policy The L.U.de.S. University can stipulate Agreements with other Universities, Public and Private National and International Bodies, in order to carry out the Master activities. Art. 2 – Course overview The Master aims at providing the students with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Hospital management. The modular training allows: Twenty. The course will be activated with a minimal number of ten students. Graduated in sanitary fields, medicine, economy or law can register at the course. The owners of a short course higher education diploma in the field of public health can take part in the Course as “auditors”. The first 10 candidates are admitted in chronological order of their applications deposited at the Registrar’s office of L.U.de.S University, Didactic pole at AFRO-ASIAN INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (AAIMS) 626 Shadman-1 Lahore, Pakistan before announced last date. Other applications, even if sent on time, but delivered by the postal office to the faculty Registrar’s office after the above mentioned term, won’t be considered. Together with the application forms the following documents must be sent: The list of the candidates admitted to the Course will be advertised by the bulletin-board of the Registrar’s office at L.U.de.S University, Didactic pole at AAIMS-626 Shadman-1 Lahore, Pakistan. The students having been admitted to the Course are requested to pay the first instalment until announced last date and not over on the bank account of AFRO-ASIAN INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (AAIMS) Shadman-1, Lahore, Pakistan.(account details provided separately). The admitted candidates, who won’t have complied to the settlement of the first instalment until the above mentioned date and not over this date, will immediately lose the right to register at the Course and to the refund of payments already done; the immediately following candidate will take the right to register at the Course (as USD 500/- are required to be deposited at the time of application submission which will be refunded if the candidate is rejected). Art. 5 – Incorrectness or falsity of the statements or of the documents Should the incorrectness or the falsity of the statements made by the student be proved, this will lead to the automatic exclusion of the same student from the Course and from every regarding right. Moreover the student won’t be able to appeal to any right of recourse, even considering the registration fees already paid. Art. 6 - Credits and Course duration 60 credit ECTS for 1500 hours of total work activity will be attributed. The Course has duration of one Academic Years and the total amount of hours will be divided as follows:
The President of L.U.de.S. University has activated at the L.U.de.S. the second level University Master of International Health Care Management , Economics and Policy issuing the relating Regulation, to which refers the present Announcement.
The Master lasts Two Academic Years.
a) to provide theoretical and practical knowledge about Hospital management.
b) to get a deeper knowledge of management and health systems choosing one of the optional modules.
c) to understand and get a deeper knowledge of new public management in health.
At the end of the Master the student will have to be able to carry out hospital management in an autonomous way.
The University reserves the right, if advisable, to have recourse to the law.

Art. 7 – Guided self-learning The registered students have to contact a tutor and to agree with him for the preparation of the first year thesis and of the final thesis. Art. 8 - Planning and didactic activity The didactic activity is carried out by Professors of L.U.de.S. and of the partners that is didactic pole of the university at Afro-Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, Lahore,Pakistan; it consists in frontal lessons, clinical practice and research apprenticeship, self-learning activity. To the totality of the above mentioned activities, integrated with the commitment to the study and to the individual preparation, corresponds the acquisition, by the registered students, of 60 credits (ECTS). The students can attend the single modules obtaining an attendance certificate. Art. 10 - Accreditation The course and degree is accredited by the Repubblica e Cantone Ticino (southern province of Switzerland) and it is attested by all embassies in Switzerland. After attestation from any embassy the degree can be attested by the ministry of foreign affairs of that specific country. Art. 11 – Calendar The Course begins on 1st August each year at 14.00 and finishes on 31st July next year. The final thesis will be discussed in first week of September after two years after final assessment. From Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 13:00 *For Overseas Students 6 week courses at didactic pole and regular training at accredited centres in different countries and regular online lectures. The practice hours will be carried out at didactic pole, Afro-Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan or any centre accredited or nominated by the didactic pole. Art. 12 – Attendance The students will be admitted to the discussion of the final thesis Art. 13 - Controls The control of the actual attendance will be carried out by the single professors, who will have the protocols established by the eduQua Regulation at their disposal. The Professors, at the end of their lessons, have to fill in accurately the above mentioned protocols and to register them at the General Secretary’s office of the Athenaeum. Whenever it’s necessary, the professors and the students attending the Course have to fill in the questionnaires established by the Quality System. The final control has to be carried out in a collective way by mentioning the possible changes, which are thought to be introduced to the following courses. Art. 14 - Quality System For every problem concerning the filling in of the protocols of the eduQua Regulation and of the questionnaires relating to the Quality System, the professors and the students have to apply directly to the Director of the Continuing Education Department and to the person in charge of the Quality. Art. 15 - Presentation of the final thesis At the end of the Course the students have to present a thesis, which has to be discussed on announced date. The thesis has to be registered at L.U.de.S. Registrar’s Office by completion of 12 months and not over. The subject of the thesis has to be decided together with the Master Director who is the supervisor (with written approval) and with the Professor (supervisor) of the subject, which concerns the research carried out by the student. The thesis has to be carried out according to the directives and criteria established by the “Thesis’ Regulation” of the University. The students can request the Regulation directly to the Course Director. Once the students have discussed the final thesis and satisfied all the requirements according to the Master Regulation, the final Diploma will be delivered by the L.U.de.S. Department of Continuing Education, which owns the eduQua Certification. Art. 17 - Academic Management The academic management as a whole, the definition of the Announcements, the students’ matriculation, the Courses Regulations, the issue of certifications to students and professors, the final issue of the qualification is managed exclusively by the University. Art. 18 - Board and Lodging The University puts at student’s disposal the addresses of partner’s hotels, which grant to them flat prizes during their stay in Switzerland or in Pakistan for the attendance both of the theoretical and practical part. Art. 19 - Insurance The students have to insure themselves individually in case of illness or accident. Art.20 - Didactic seats for carrying out the theoretical and clinical practice lessons. Art. 21 - Registration and Fees Registration: together with the application form (delay on 31 st July), which has to be requested at the Secretary’s office or could be downloaded from the Web site, it is necessary to enclose the receipt of the payment of the registration fees. Diploma’s fee: No extra fee for the degree/certificate. Educational grant: A grant of 50% discount (scholarship) is offered to candidates from certain nationalities according to the U.N. and the USA department of HHS poverty guidelines. Art. 22 – Disciplinary Code The students are expected to conduct themselves with maximum discipline at the university as well as in centers and with the other students, respecting superior and colleagues, and to take care of the didactic equipment, which is at the disposal of the students. In case of violation against the rules, disciplinary actions will be taken (call to order, cautioning, and dismissal) according to the didactic rules and disciplinary code of the L.U.de.S. In the case of damages to people or equipment, he will personally be liable for the caused damages Art. 23 – Appeals Against the decisions taken by the Academic Bodies it is possible to appeal according to art. 22, comma 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 of the current L.U.de.S. Statute. For those subjects not considered in the present Regulation, it is necessary to refer to the Regulations of the Government Bodies, to the current Statute, to the Didactic Regulation of the Athenaeum, to the Disciplinary Code, to the Civil and Penal Code and to the Swiss Obligations Code.
* There are special scholarships for nationals of these countries depending on merit, income and sponsorship status.
* There are also few special grants for candidates with extra-ordinary academic record.
