The L.U.de.S - Independent University of Studies in Human and Technological Sciences is a private university with a pluralistic character, independent of all political and ideological orientation. The L.U.de.S was founded in Zug on September 27th, 1999, according to the terms of art. 60, of the Swiss civil Code.

The Swiss University Conference (CUS) declared that the L.U.de.S can exercise activities of research and teaching freely at Federal level, as the High Court had been pronounced in priority by the judgment 2P.143/2001 of 19.02.02 (Federal Court).
